Activities & Updates

Below are recent activities and events to give you an idea of what we have been up to lately.

Ichabod Kinesiology Lectures

The 2025 Ichabod Kinesiology Lectures were sponsored by the Kinesiology Club at Washburn University in Topeka, KS. It was a delight to share the stage with Dr. Dimitrije Cabarkapa from KU who spoke on the use of technologies in sports science. This was followed by a presentation by A.C. Fry on "Muscle Fiber Types, Performance and Training Status". It was great fun to meet with these very engaged students.  Go Ichabods!

NSCA's Blue Ribbon Panel on Military Physical Readiness

San Antonio, TX 2025

Physical preparation for military readiness has been a challenge throughout history.  Discussing methods to enhance this process is an ongoing task that can benefit from what we have learned from sports preparation.

Texas A&M University's 2025 Hilliard Distinguished Lecture

The Huffines Institute for Sports Medicine & Human Performance at Texas A&M University hosted the 2025 presentation titled "Winning and Losing in Competition - What Can the Coach and Athlete learn from the Zoologist?".  This was a great opportunity to network with colleagues and to learn about how they approach the challenges of sports science.
